The end of a perfect day!
This is my favorite scene from Turkey. The dancers, a National folk group, are from the Maras area, close to Gazientep in Eastern Turkey.
I also like the picture of nomads from Eastern Anatolia (Turkey). The morning of the Eid feast (time of sacrifices) we saw hundreds of sheep skins piled in market places and gutters in street ran red with blood so deeply that I had to jump over the stream.
Chicago Chocolate Tours
For our birthdays, our daughter, Ruth, gave Bob and I tickets to a walking tour through Andersonville’s chocolate shops.
First we met our hostess, a former “burned out” lawyer who knew European chocolates. She gave up law and started her tours about four years ago. She's enjoying her career change, she told us.
To begin the nineteen of us on this tour introduced ourselves and told where we were from. Then we each received a bag for free samples.
I kept all my samples in the bag until we got home, then I ate them slowly. For one day in my life, I didn’t want any more chocolate after that. But only for one day!
Here are pictures of the tour owner and our personal guide, and some of the chocolates we devoured.
We also stopped at ‘Terry’s Toffee. Terry Opalek gave up a successful career to develop and sell his grandmother’s toffee. Since, he’s created other types of toffees. Yumm, yummy, they are!
His toffees are given to the Hollywood folks at the Academy Awards each year.

We read about India becoming an economic power in the world and about a growing middle class. However, much of the country remains in terrible poverty, with people sleeping in the streets and public buildings. Beggars are everywhere. However, people are friendly and much is colorful in the country.
We attended a Scandinavian Danish Day Festival. I ate elephant ears, my favorite, and meatballs on a stick, bathed in a sour cream sauce. Wonderful stuff!
I tried to photograph the dancers, but they moved too fast for me.
I did shoot this one woman from behind. 
And I captured a Viking warrior, briefly. : > )
We have a small model of this horse that our son, Daniel, bought years ago in Sweden.

The best one of all
Teachers and students in Beijing played on special ice sleds. What a clever idea. I've skated on ice, and sledded on snow, but never rode an ice sled!
The child seated in the front of the sled controls it with the two prongs he holds.
