My conversion story is not spectacular but it is as meaningful as more exciting ones.
I grew up attending Sunday School so I believed in Jesus from an early age. I believed the Scriptures so was baptized in about the eighth grade. The Scripture says at our baptism we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. I believe I did. But I really didn't yield my whole heart to Him for a changed life. I didn't see any need for that.
After my Freshman year of high school I went to youth camp for the first time. It was amazing--what I learned at camp. The Lord really got hold of my heart.
The last day of camp they asked anyone who wanted come forward and commit their lives to full time service for the Lord Jesus. I responded.
My outlook on life completely changed. I went home a different girl. My goals were entirely new. Every facet of my life was altered.
I’ve never regretted that decision. Later, I was a minister's wife and a missionary. We didn't stay in the ministry, but I have tried my best to serve Him in whatever way I could.
Along with the hardships, disappointments and times of "going through the valley" the Lord has always been a great comfort. What a joy to serve Him.
